Meet Nicola

Dr Nicola Scott has over ten years experience of establishing eco-friendly community food growing sites in Manchester with Celia to deliver therapeutic horticulture. She has trained as an ecological urban farmer. Food growing and spending time in nature is central to who she is.

Nicola has also managed part of DEFRA’s New Entrants Support Scheme. She has worked to increase access to community food growing and farming for racially minoritised groups. She is a qualified researcher who uses people-centred approaches in her research practise. She has a PhD from the University of Manchester, and has co-written the book Reclaiming Economics for Future Generations.
